Boy with brain tumor, despite many surgeries, still optimistic and understanding

In the program "What I Want to Say", the story of 10-year-old boy Gia Huy, who has a brain tumor but is still very optimistic and understanding, is touching.

According to Gia Huy on the program "What I Want to Say", he has been sick since July 2023. It has been more than a year now, but he has not fully recovered enough to continue going to school like his peers. Therefore, Gia Huy's simple wish is to recover quickly so he can return to studying.

Psychologist Dr. Ly Thi Mai (Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Psychology and Education) and MC Hoang Oanh could not help but be moved by Gia Huy's dream because going to school is a normal thing for many people but is a luxury dream for Gia Huy.

It is worth mentioning that Gia Huy did not have to undergo one surgery but five surgeries in just one month. And for the entire year that followed, the boy from Can Tho also had to take medication regularly.

Despite going through so much pain, Gia Huy still maintains an optimistic spirit and is strong in facing the disease. Talking to MC Hoang Oanh, Gia Huy revealed that his parents always tell him funny stories to encourage him.

In particular, Gia Huy also knew that his parents hid their tears and did not dare to cry in front of him for fear of making him sad. Gia Huy's understanding made MC Hoang Oanh feel heartbroken.

Understanding his parents' love, in addition to wanting to go to school, Gia Huy wishes his parents to always live happily with him.

The boy also understood that there were many other children who were sicker than him, even lacking the love of their parents, while he still had both parents by his side and that was a blessing.

Gia Huy confided: “I feel lucky because I still have my parents and grandmother. At Mother Nhu's boarding house, there are many friends who don't have parents, only their paternal or maternal grandmothers.”

Ms. Nhung (Gia Huy's mother) confided: "I am truly happy to have you. Whether you are healthy or sick, your parents will always be by your side anytime, anywhere, but you must try to overcome it with your parents, don't be afraid of anything."

In response to his mother's confession, Gia Huy expressed: "I also want to tell my parents that I am very grateful to them for loving me. I dream that they will live happily with me forever."
