Mr. Hoang is from An Giang, and Ms. Kieu is from Soc Trang. Born into a family of traders, Mr. Hoang had to drop out of school in the third grade and follow his family to sell goods.
Later, when he grew up, Hoang went to sell and met Kieu - who was selling coffee in the market.
Fate brought him together when he deliberately "tricked" her into buying 6 sets of clothes for only 100,000 VND, half the price, and asked for her phone number. From then on, they asked for each other's phone numbers to keep in touch.
Ms. Kieu shared that he visited her coffee shop 2-3 days a week. After only 3 months of knowing each other, the two decided to get married.
After getting married, the couple built a life together. Mr. Hoang went back to selling backpacks and handbags and thanks to "God's grace", his business gradually improved.
The couple worked hard to earn money and overcame many difficulties, including losing capital many times. Whenever they encountered obstacles, Ms. Kieu helped her husband sell goods.
Mr. Hoang shared that despite their difficult starting point, both of them were fortunate to have the support and love of their family. With the support of his wife's parents, the couple felt secure leaving their baby with their grandparents, then traveling to different places to do business.
After buying a new truck, the couple turned it into a mobile home. Every time they arrived in a new province, they chose beautiful places to stop.
The life of traveling traders across provinces and cities helps Mr. Hoang and Ms. Kieu experience many regions, enjoy special dishes, and strengthen their relationship as husband and wife.
“We borrow our profession to travel,” Mr. Hoang happily shared.
The couple’s life is not without simple joys. On good sales days, they can enjoy delicious food, and on slow days, they eat simple meals.
In response to MC Dinh Toan's question about personal life, Mr. Hoang shared that he and his wife often showered at gas stations. After filling up with gas, they asked the station owner to let them shower.
Although the street vending business is somewhat unstable, Mr. Hoang and Ms. Kieu still try to maintain and develop it. Currently, Mr. Hoang also sells online via livestream.
In the summer, he often takes his son with him to experience different provinces and cities. "If he studies well and excels, I let him travel with me. If not, he has to try hard to go the following summer," Mr. Hoang said with a smile.
Over many years of trading, Mr. Hoang and Ms. Kieu have received love and support from people in many places.
He happily recounted: "Wherever I went, people loved me, invited me to their homes, and even gave me rice, candy, and many other things."
Mr. Hoang was especially impressed with Ca Mau, where people were very friendly and often gave seafood to the couple.
Although they have temporarily stopped their traveling to settle down in Dong Nai, Mr. Hoang and Ms. Kieu still maintain their online sales jobs. The couple cannot avoid petty arguments, especially when Mr. Hoang likes to "tease" which sometimes makes Ms. Kieu jealous.
MC Dinh Toan hopes that the couple will continue to maintain their passion and love for the profession, but at the same time, they also need to spend more time experiencing and developing with their children.
