Preparation materials
1/2 native chicken
1 large ginger root
5 scallion branches
2 shallots
1 chili
1 lemon
salt, seasoning powder, pepper
1 teaspoon of sesame oil
How to do
Step 1: Pre-processing chicken
Wash the chicken with salt and a few crushed slices of ginger to deodorize. Then chop it into bite-sized pieces or leave half a chicken as desired.

Step 2: Marinate the chicken
Put the chicken in a bowl, add a little salt, seasoning powder, pepper and half a ounce of shredded ginger. Marinate for about 20 minutes for the chicken to absorb the flavor before steaming.
Step 3: Prepare steaming ingredients
Cut green onions into sections about 5cm long. Slice shallots thinly. Place a layer of green onions and ginger on the bottom of the plate or steamer and place the chicken on top.
Step 4: Steam chicken
Boil water in a steamer and then put the chicken in for steaming for about 25-30 minutes. When the chicken is almost cooked, add the remaining scallions and ginger to enhance the aroma.

Step 5: Complete the dish
Take the chicken out onto a plate, pour a little sesame oil on top and decorate with shredded chili.

Steamed chicken with onions and ginger should be served hot with salt, pepper and lemon. The dish has the natural sweetness of chicken combined with the characteristic aroma of onions and ginger.
