Schedule haircuts early to feel secure to welcome Tet
There is about a month left until the 2026 Lunar New Year, the beauty market in Hanoi has already entered its peak season early.
From women's hair salons to men's hair salons, the working atmosphere becomes much busier than usual when the number of customers scheduling increases sharply, and workers are still busy day and night.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh (28 years old, Hanoi) - said that this year she set a haircut schedule from the beginning of December of the lunar calendar.
In previous years, I always waited until near Tet to go to work, the salon was always crowded, waiting for a very long time, but hair done near Tet was not beautiful yet. This year, learning from experience, I booked almost a month in advance to be sure. Both comfortably choosing styles and not having to worry about urgently changing hair," Ms. Linh shared.
Sharing the same psychology, Mr. Pham Ngoc Khoa (22 years old, Hanoi) - said that shaving hair for Tet is not only beauty but also a spiritual "ritual".
Not only for women, for us men, having beautiful hair for Tet is also important. At the end of the year, work is busy, so when scheduling in advance, I can be proactive in time, and be assured that I have satisfactory hair to go home for Tet," Mr. Khoa said.
Hair salons increase capacity, working day and night
Currently, hair salons in Hanoi are entering the most stressful working period of the year.
Mr. Hua Van Vu - owner of a women's hair salon in Hanoi - said that the salon opened the Tet calendar early and the number of customers this year tends to increase compared to last year.

“The beauty needs of women are higher, many days we have to work all day, sometimes until 3 - 4 am. Although tired, everyone tries to maintain energy and neatness so that customers have the most beautiful hair to welcome the new year. Especially, the Tet prices at our store remain unchanged, not increasing in price,” Mr. Hua Van Vu shared.
Not only women's hair salons, but also men's barbershops have become much busier.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tu - owner of a men's hair salon in Hanoi - in the peak season of previous years, the salon could serve from 100 - 300 customers per day, the highest being about two weeks before Tet.

This year, demand is forecast to increase further, because men now not only cut their hair but also style and dye them. To meet the number of customers, we have added more personnel and overtime both day and night," Mr. Nguyen Van Tu said.
As the 2026 Lunar New Year approaches, the hair service market in Hanoi is forecast to be even more vibrant in the coming weeks.
