According to China Daily, on May 11, the UK Government first confirmed the importance of wearing masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the epidemic has lasted for a long time, causing medical masks to not be produced enough for people to use. Here are two ways to create a convenient fabric mask:
First method: Cut and button
First of all, it is necessary to prepare:
Step 1: Measure the shirt from the bear to over 20cm, cutting across to get this part.
Step 2: Bend the fabric from the right corner of the fabric, cut a 15cm U-shaped line so that the edges on each side are 2cm wide.
Step 3: Cut a cross at both edges of the mask rope.
Step 4: After cutting, open the fabric, measure the appropriate length to cover the nose and mouth, tie the knots at the two ends of the upper and lower strings to wear the mask as follows:
Second method: Stitching from pre-cut fabric pieces
First of all, it is necessary to prepare:
Step 1: Cut two pieces of fabric 25cm x 25cm (the leftover T-shirt fabric can be used). Let the two pieces of fabric overlap
Step 2: Bend the two edges of the fabric above and below 0.75cm, the two left edges of the fabric below 1.5cm, then step the right edges of the fabric back into two lines to cut the fabric through the fabric.
Step 3: Pull two 20cm long fabric strands into two steps at the same level, measuring the length suitable to the ear, then union the two ends of the Strands together, the other side is similar.
Or you can tie the ends of the rope as a first step.
Step 4: Adjust the mask to fit the face, adjust the stitches at both ends of the rope (or knots) to avoid revealing them.
Children under two years old or those who cannot wear masks can use specialized masks instead.
Thus, on average, for each T-shirt, we can make 3 to 4 double-layer masks and can replace them when the medical mask is out of stock.
