Singer Lee Hyori and her husband, musician Lee Sang Soon, have been married for 11 years, but still have no children.
Lee Hyori’s mother-in-law, Yoon Jung Hee, also seems to have given up hope of having grandchildren. She recently appeared in a YouTube video called “Life Is Nothing Special” and talked a lot about having Lee Hyori as a daughter-in-law.
She gave Lee Hyori compliments, but when the topic of children was brought up, she frankly confessed that she had given up on having grandchildren.
“It would be great to have grandchildren, but now that I'm older, I've given up on that idea in my heart,” said Yoon Jung Hee.
Ms. Yoon said that she visited her son and daughter-in-law's new home recently and felt that the large space could be an ideal place to raise a child.
However, Ms. Yoon also clarified that her decision to give up on having children did not reflect the couple’s decision. “I gave up, but I don’t know if they would still think about having children instead of giving up,” she said.

Over the years, Lee Hyori and her husband have been trying to have a child. Lee Hyori has repeatedly expressed her desire to become a mother on variety shows such as “Hangout With Yoo” and “Seoul Check-In.”
The "sexy queen" mentioned that she and her husband tried very hard to conceive. Although they did not undergo IVF, they tried herbal remedies and made strict lifestyle changes.
However, in JTBC's reality show "Mom, Will You Go on a Trip with Me?" in May, Lee Hyori said that she has stopped trying to get pregnant due to age issues.
The female singer said that at this age (45 years old) it is too late to get pregnant and she also has no intention of using artificial insemination.
Although Lee Hyori's biological mother, Jeon Gi Soon, was not happy, out of respect for her daughter, she did not continue to pressure her.
