The 2024 “Seeds of Aspiration” Gala announced and presented priceless gifts to support infertile military families on their arduous journey to find children.
Tears of happiness
The family of professional military Captain Ngo Van Cuong and professional military Captain Nguyen Thi Hanh, who are working at Warehouse K812 (Department of Military Armaments, General Department of Engineering), emotionally shared that 2 years ago, at the first Gala held, Captain Ngo Van Cuong and his wife were one of 10 families to receive a 100% support package for the cost of IVF for military personnel in 2022.
That year, the couple shared about their arduous journey to find a child. With a history of premature birth, uterine rupture in a previous pregnancy, failed IVF attempts, and continuous family events, they were physically and mentally exhausted.
The little woman had become callous, seemingly losing faith because of the "fear" of previous failures.
According to the couple, the free support package of the "Spreading Love" program has brought hope and lifted the couple's spirits.
Just like that, they returned to the journey of finding a child with the in vitro fertilization method and created 4 embryos.
After three consecutive failed embryo transfers and seemingly lost everything, on the fourth time, a single and final embryo brought a miracle to the family.
"The history of premature birth and uterine rupture is one of the difficulties and poses a huge challenge to the hospital's professional team in the treatment process for the couple. In addition, Ms. Hanh's ovarian reserve has decreased, causing the quantity and quality of embryos to decrease. With these two huge difficulties, the treatment process will be more complicated and take longer than other cases," said MSc. Dr. Le Thi Thu Hien - Professional Director of the Hospital - sharing more about the case of Captain Ngo Van Cuong and his wife.
In 2024, appearing on the stage of "Seeds of Aspiration" is no longer the image of a couple with tears of self-pity and self-pity when sharing about the hardships they have gone through, but instead is the image and tears of happiness of a small family of 3 - Mr. Cuong, Ms. Hanh and 7-month-old baby Ngo Bao Chau.
Two sweet fruits
At the Gala night, holding in their arms the 1-month-old twins, Captain Hoang Van Phong (born in 1994, working at Division 3, Military Region 1) and kindergarten teacher Phung Thi Hang (born in 1996, in Lang Son) happily shared their feelings about becoming parents for the first time.
In 2019, the young couple got married after meeting and getting to know each other. They thought happiness would smile on them, but after a year, two years, then three years, the good news still did not come to the family.
At the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, after examination, the cause was that the husband had weak sperm due to a history of mumps as a child and the wife had uterine polyps and to have children, the couple needed assisted reproductive intervention.
However, the cost of IVF is not small compared to the couple's income, so the young couple decided to pause for a while to accumulate some more capital.
During that time, through mass media channels, Mr. Phong learned about the program "Supporting infertile soldiers - Spreading love" in 2023 of Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital. He and his wife were once again determined to visit, submit their application for approval and were lucky to become 1 of 10 families to receive a 100% free support package for IVF costs.
During the implementation process, the hospital and unit commander always created the best conditions for Captain Hoang Van Phong's family to feel secure during treatment.
And then, complete happiness came after many difficulties, hopes and disappointments in the journey to find children, "two sweet fruits" were twin boys born on October 21, 2024 to the boundless happiness of the family.
