The story of Mr. N. marrying both Ms. D. and Ms. L. (both residing in Dien Ban town, Quang Nam) only 21 days apart is causing a stir in public opinion. Before the wedding, both Ms. D. and Ms. L. were pregnant.
Married 2 people but no one registered the marriage
On February 11, Lao Dong reporters spoke with leaders of the localities where the three people registered their permanent residence.
The leader of Dien An ward (where Mr. Nh. lives) confirmed that he had never completed the marriage registration procedure for Mr. Nh.
Similarly, the authorities of Vinh Dien ward (where Ms. D. lives) and Dien Hoa commune (where Ms. L. lives) said that neither of them had registered their marriage.
As reported by Lao Dong, on February 7, Ms. D. (one of the two brides) posted on her personal Facebook page about a "love triangle". In the post, Ms. D. posted a photo with a caption of her and Mr. Nh.'s wedding ceremony on August 6, 2023 and a photo of Ms. L.'s and Mr. Nh.'s wedding ceremony taking place 3 weeks later, on August 27, 2023.
Immediately, information and uncovered images of the people involved were widely shared on social networking forums, causing much debate and negative comments.
Dien Ban town leaders said they had received information about the incident, but only from Ms. D.'s side. The authorities are verifying the incident to find a suitable solution. However, if it is true that a man married two wives, it is against good customs.

Speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the high school where Ms. L. is working said that the school has received information and is initially working with this teacher to encourage and continue to stabilize her work.
"Whether the story is right or wrong, we have to wait for the authorities to investigate and clarify. This female teacher has only been at the school for nearly 2 years. During her time working, Ms. L. has still completed her duties well and has not had any negative comments with students or parents," the school leader informed.
After the incident, Ms. L. locked her personal page and has yet to speak out about the incident. According to Lao Dong, Ms. L. has filed a complaint with the authorities, asking the police to intervene to protect her personal rights and privacy from being violated by one-sided information that is spreading on social networks.
After 4 days of posting on her personal Facebook, Ms. D's post received 24,000 reactions, more than 120,000 comments, more than 10,000 shares; and continued to flood social media groups and forums with reposts.
