On July 3, a notice appeared on social networks about the second admission of Nam Dan 2 High School with an admission score of 2.5 points - a score that many parents consider unprecedented.
In response to this information, the public expressed concern about the admission criteria and input quality of public schools in the province.
On the afternoon of July 3, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province - said that in the 2025-2026 school year, Nam Dan 2 High School was assigned a target of enrolling 450 grade 10 students.

In the first phase, the school recruited more than 400 students, with the candidate with the highest score reaching 27.75 points. Due to the lack of quotas, the school is allowed to organize the second round of additional admissions.
In this additional admission round, the total number of students admitted is 31. Only one candidate has a score of 2.5, the rest of the students have higher scores, said Mr. Hoan. He also emphasized that 2.5 is not the standard score applied to all candidates but is the lowest score in the group of students considered for admission in the second round.
Mr. Hoan added: In principle, additional enrollment is to ensure that the quota for grade 10 students is met according to the assigned plan. The admission process still complies with current regulations, is transparent, public and based on registration wishes. The school continues to carry out the task of fostering knowledge to ensure the quality of learning for students after enrollment".
