At the beginning of the program, Mr. Thanh Phuong shared his family's current situation. He sells vegetables and fruits, while Ms. Thuy Trang sells lottery tickets.
The couple met at vocational school about 16 years ago. Thanh Phuong said that at first he was interested in another girl at the same vocational school, so he sought out Trang for her experience and advice.
Ms. Thuy Trang shared that she also urged Mr. Phuong to pursue and confess his love to the girl he loved: "He also confessed his love to her. When she accepted, he responded by loving me." Ironically, when he received the girl's approval, Mr. Thanh Phuong discovered that he had fallen in love with Ms. Thuy Trang without realizing it, and from then on the two became lovers.
After finishing school, Phuong told his mother and both families agreed. Later, the couple returned to Hoc Mon to sell vegetables.
When asked by MC Dinh Toan whether their love would still be happy and fulfilled when they lived together, Thuy Trang shared: “When I was pregnant, he was afraid that my child would have this or that problem, so he wanted to have an abortion. At that time, I was very upset! But I was determined to keep the baby. He thought that both of us were disabled, and he was afraid that the child would be disabled when born,” Trang emotionally recounted.
She shared that at that time, the couple had just moved out and were still struggling, lacking everything, and Mr. Phuong went out drinking and neglected his family. There was a time when Ms. Trang told her mother-in-law that she couldn't take it anymore: "I'm leaving you now, not me."
Ms. Trang said that her husband had done everything to make her abandon the child. Mr. Phuong also shared that at that time, both families were in a difficult situation and the two children had just moved out.
When asked about the biggest reason for wanting to abort the child, Mr. Phuong shared that he felt guilty for giving birth to the child but not being able to take care of it as well as others. However, he did not share this with his wife but kept it to himself, so the couple had a period of time when they became increasingly distant and angry with each other.
After giving birth, Trang stayed home to take care of her child and the house in the early stages to support her husband in selling. When the child went to kindergarten, Trang continued to sell lottery tickets.
MC Dinh Toan asked if the couple ever felt that life was unfair to them. Thuy Trang tearfully expressed: "I also dream of having some capital to do business, I would open a flower shop so I wouldn't have to go out in the rain and wind." During difficult times, the couple could only comfort each other and try to overcome.
When asked if he had any wishes, Mr. Phuong also shared that he wished to have a small amount of capital: "I wish I had some capital to open a business for my wife at home, so that I can go to work with peace of mind. Because my wife goes to sell lottery tickets at night, sometimes she doesn't come home until 10-11 pm, and I don't feel secure at home."
