Baeksang 2025: IU - Park Bo Gum's film wins big, Song Hye Kyo is left empty-handed

On the evening of May 5, the 2025 Baeksang Arts Awards took place in Korea.

This year, "When Life Is for You" won big with 4 nominations, including the most important award - Best Film. However, the main couple, Park Bo Gum, and IU, did not win the Best Actor award.

The Best Actor/Actress Award went to Ju Ji Hoon (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call) and Kim Tae Ri (Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born).

Speaking at the Best Actress award ceremony, Kim Tae Ri emotionally shared, "Maybe this is not the answer for me, but it is something I have dreamed of. It comes from the desire I can do better in the future, to fill what I lack, with my efforts.

This is the second time Kim Tae Ri has won the Best Actor award at Baeksang, after the 2022 film "Age 25, Age 21".

For Ju Ji Hoon, this is the Baeksang award he won in 16 years, the last time was 2009. He plays a legendary injury surgeon in the movie "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call".

In the film industry, the film "Harbin" starring Hyun Bin won the Best Film award. However, the 8X actor lost the Best Actor award to Cho Jung Seok (play "Pilot").

This is the first Baeksang award in Cho Jung Seok's career. He choked up when giving his acceptance speech: "I really don't think about this award. But I want to have it. I am very grateful.

Personally, I think this role is a big challenge for me. But I believe that I and my colleagues are great people. I feel like I am being rewarded for daring to commit."

Although nominated for Best Actress in Song Hye Kyo's Best Actress category, star Jeon Do Yeon (Revoler) won. "Dark Nuns" starring Song Hye Kyo was also not named at Baeksang 2025.

At Baeksang 2025, Netflix's hit TV series "When Life Is for You" took the lead with 8 nominations, including important categories such as Best Actress, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress...
