According to JTBC News, this year's Baeksang Arts Awards of Korea has expanded the scope of evaluation from 3 ground-based broadcasters (KBS, SBS, MBC) to cable TV, over-the-air (OTT) services and web films.
To comply with the expanded criteria, the television category was also renamed the broadcast category.
The nominations are films released from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 and have aired at least 1/3 of their time.
Netflix's "When Life Gives You Tangerines" leads the number of nominations for broadcast categories with a total of 8 nominations. Including the Best Film, Best Director (Kim Won Seok), Best Screenwriter (Lim Sang Choon).
Park Bo Gum and IU were nominated for Best Actor/Actress. Choi Dae Hoon and Yeom Hye Ran were nominated for Best Supporting Actor/Actress. Kim Tae Yeon is on the list of nominees for Best New Actress.
In addition, this year's Baeksang marks the rise of online platforms with many nominated works.

In addition to "When Life Gives You Tangerines", Netflix has 4 other nominated films including "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call", "Squid Game 2", "The Frog", "Hellbound 2" and 1 TV show "Culinary Class Wars" also nominated for technical awards.
Disney+ has the films "Light Shop" and "The Tyrant". Coupang Play has "Family Matters", Tving has "Study Group".
The 61st Baeksang Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place on the evening of May 5, broadcast live via JTBC.
