In the Box Office Vietnam group, an audience member shared a screen displaying the screenings of the movie "Flip Side 8: Sun Hands" on the ticket booking application.
This person said that Lotte Cinema Go Vap cinema, the screening at 9pm display, had sold out seats for rows A, B, C, D (screen off), and the back seats were empty.
After a few hours, this person came to check again, the screenings were adjusted.
In a group discussing the film, an audience member also shared that the screening of "Flip Side 8" only had a few beautiful seats left, and there were tickets close to the screen - where it was very difficult to watch them sell out.
In addition, some posts reflected that many "Flip Side 8" screenings were almost sold out on the morning of May 5, but by late afternoon there were still many empty tickets, making it inconvenient for the audience to buy tickets.
According to Lao Dong reporters, on the evening and night of May 5, someCSV theaters at Aeon Mall, CGV Vincom Long Bien,CSV Vincom Center Ba Trieu all had the phenomenon of selling out the front seats, but the back seats were still empty.
This unusual thing has many viewers wondering whether it is a "movement" from the producer to let Box Office "scanning" virtual data, thereby updating the film's revenue data, when "Flip Side 8" is in fierce competition with "Detective Kien".
Ly Hai's side - the director of "Flip Side 8" previously made a statement about the film being "dirty".
The fact that the "Flip Side 8" screenings show sold-out tickets in the first 4 rows of seats, but the back seats are still empty is causing a lot of controversy and many opinions.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Duong - representative of Box Office Vietnam - said that the situation of front rows in the cinema displaying "sold out" appeared with many films, mainly due to the theater cluster proactively locking the seating area next to the screen to direct the audience to buy beautiful seats."When the top ticket information was displayed focusing on the movie Lat mat 8, we did not know the reason for the theater cluster's decision or the impact of the distributor/producer.
Box Office Vietnam regularly updates the screening map. It is true that there will be a time when the system will record tickets that are being temporarily held for payment (illustrated as sold), the number of tickets is large. But after about 15 minutes, when all those tickets are released, Box Office Vietnam will accurately record the actual number of tickets," Mr. Nguyen Khanh Duong shared.
Box Office Vietnam representative affirmed that if a unit uses the form of temporary reservations without paying, the film's revenue and ranking on the box office rankings will not change.
Mr. Nguyen Khanh Duong added: "I think that booking tickets yourself does not bring financial benefits to the producer. If I buy such a large number of tickets to display high rankings on the rankings, I think it is not as important as having to invest like that.
A film does not only have a main producer, but also many collective and individual investors. Investors will want to have real numbers, real achievements, real audiences, no one is happy when partners spend money to buy tickets to watch their films invest. To have an answer to this situation, the cinemas will have the clearest understanding, because they manage the ticket sales system".
The reporter continued to contact the CGV film distribution system and the producer of the film "Flip Side 8", but there is currently no response.
