Launching the campaign "Dien Bien Phu - The Journey of AI coverage"
Speaking at this event, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Dien Bien People's Committee Le Thanh Do emphasized: In the sacred atmosphere of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); 71 years of Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (7.5.1954 - 7.5.2025) illustrious in the continent, shocked the Earth, the Provincial People's Committee held the event "AI Festival" of Dien Bien province, and launched two important programs: "Dien Bien Phu campaign - Journey of Phu" and the "popular number of digital studies" movement.
The event took place in the context that our country is making efforts to strongly implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
This is a clear demonstration of the determination of Dien Bien province, a mountainous and border province with many difficulties - in proactively integrating into global trends, exploiting advanced technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI), as a new driving force for sustainable and comprehensive socio-economic development.
This is not only an opportunity to honor the heroic past, but also the beginning of a new journey, a journey to create a future with knowledge, technology and the desire to rise up.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, deeply aware of the role of technology in the digital age, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Dien Bien province have clearly identified: Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation are not only an inevitable trend, but are a strategic lever, a key driving force in the province's rapid, sustainable and comprehensive development process.
To concretize this orientation, the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development of the province has issued an Action Plan to implement the goals and tasks in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, while ensuring that it is in line with practical conditions, needs and specific advantages of the locality.
AI Festival contributes to arousing passion for technology, promoting the spirit of learning and creativity in the younger generation - the future owners of Dien Bien, who will contribute to shaping the position of the province in the digital age.
In the same place that won the "five continents, shaking the world", today, we continue to carry out a big battle of the digital age. The "Dien Bien Phu - The Journey of AI coverage" campaign aims to bring AI closer to the People, each organization, business, village, classroom and each area of life.
We not only aim to master technology, but more importantly, apply technology to solve practical problems, from smart agriculture, flexible education, digital tourism, to distance healthcare and modern administration" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do said.
With the "Digital education movement" across the province, Mr. Do emphasized the goal of popularizing digital knowledge and skills to all people, so that everyone can use smart devices, access essential digital services and participate safely and effectively in cyberspace; Striving by 2026: 100% of people of the adult age have basic knowledge of digitalization, have appropriate digital skills, and are ready to actively participate in digital society.
In order for the movements to become practical and spread widely, Dien Bien province will systematically, flexibly, and creatively implement solutions such as: Strong application of online learning platforms; Training, layered training according to target groups; Promoting effective models such as "Digital Ambassador", "Digital Family", "Digital Market, Digital Rural Area" and especially, promoting the role of the Community Digital Technology Team, persistently implementing the motto "go to every alley, knock on every door, guide each person".
100% of teachers in Dien Bien province have been popularized with AI
At this event, Ms. Tran To Uyen - Country Director of STEAM for Vietnam - shared about the AI popularization training course for 14,000 teachers in Dien Bien province.
"We want to prove that the effectiveness of AI is not affected by geography but also shortens the distance between remote areas. This is the key, the weapon for Dien Bien to catch up with other localities, even becoming famous on the digital front" - Ms. Uyen said.
Over the past 2 months, 200 volunteers across the country have taken part, focusing on implementing a training program with the goal of popularizing AI to 100% of teachers in the province before 7/5. After 2 months, teachers and managers were trained, including 1,200 managers; 102 core teachers were trained. Currently, 100% (14,000 teachers) in the whole province have completed the AI course.
It is worth mentioning that after the training course, more than 35,700 teachers' projects have been completed. In which, the Top 5 best projects out of more than 35,000 projects sent back by teachers in extremely difficult areas such as Muong Nhe, Tua Chua, Muong Ang.
In the following projects, STEAM for Vietnam hopes to accompany to achieve 3 main goals: Teachers not only understand but also apply deeply, creating a community of AI application in the classroom but also spreading it to colleagues, or becoming inter-provincial and interdisciplinary trainers.
Expressing her confidence in the strategic actions of Dien Bien province, Ms. Uyen said: "71 years ago, Dien Bien could succeed based on courage and intelligence, but now, we fully believe that Dien Bien will succeed on the digital front thanks to AI weapons.
The "Dien Bien Phu - The Journey of AI coverage" campaign and the "differential education movement" will certainly be a great success, opening a new promising chapter for Dien Bien province in the digital age", emphasized the national director of STEAM for Vietnam.
