BTS once again affirmed their world leading position on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. (global music chart outside the US market). This week, the 7-member boy group from Korea continued to dominate the No. 1 position with the blockbuster "Swim", pushing back the position of other global music superstars.
With "Swim" continuing to hold the throne, BTS has officially equaled their record for the longest number of weeks at No. 1 on this chart, and the BigHit group may soon break their own record.

Swim" maintains form, equals "Dynamite's" record
To date, the song "Swim", the single that paved the way for the most anticipated comeback album "Arirang", has been on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for 10 weeks and has only left the top spot 2 times.
With a total of 8 weeks firmly in the highest position, "Swim" officially equaled the record of "Dynamite" (2020) to become the hit with the most persistent No. 1 record in the group's history on this chart.
Far ahead of Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and Blackpink
The victory of "Swim" helps BTS widen the gap before any global artist. The group currently owns up to 8 songs that have reached No. 1 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S., including: "Butter", "Dynamite", "Life Goes On", "My Universe" (combined with Coldplay), "Permission to Dance", "Swim", "Take Two" and "Yet to Come".
This number is twice as high as the achievements of all three stars Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift and Blackpink - artists who are tied for second place with 4 songs that once reached number 1. Among BTS's 8 No. 1 hits, only 3 songs have held the throne for more than a week: "Dynamite" (8 weeks), "Swim" (8 weeks) and "Butter" (5 weeks).
The heat of "Swim" continues to prevent Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" from reaching number 1. Currently, this hit song of the "King of Pop" is still in the runner-up position (No. 2) despite benefiting greatly from the attraction through his biographical film.
On the Billboard Global 200 chart (including the US market), "Swim" also witnessed impressive growth when jumping from number 10 to number 4. Previously, this song once reached No. 1 for 4 weeks on the Global 200 chart, equaling the record of "Dynamite" and surpassing "Butter" (2 weeks). BTS currently also has 8 songs that won the championship on this chart, a very impressive but not too surprising achievement.
Last week, "Swim" and a series of other superstars' songs were pushed back due to the massive influx from Drake's new products. This week, as the popularity of the Canadian rapper cooled down, "Swim" quickly reversed the trend to rise again on Billboard Global 200 (No. 4), Radio Songs (No. 25) and Billboard Hot 100 (No. 44). However, this single slightly decreased in ranking on 3 Pop radio charts, including Pop Airplay, Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Airplay. It is currently ranked 13, 17 and 18 respectively.
