Recently, Blackpink (Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, Lisa) performed the highly anticipated new song "Jump" for the first time at a concert at Goyang Stadium (Korea), opening a Deadline world tour.
The song has not been officially released on all platforms, but the video of Blackpink performing "Jump" at the concert has gone viral on social media, attracting heated discussion.
However, contrary to expectations for a song marking the group's comeback after nearly 3 years, "Jump" received mixed reactions from Korean audiences.
On the online community theqoo, a post sharing Blackpink's "Jump" performance video attracted nearly 70,000 views and more than 700 comments. Most of them were criticisms of the song's quality.
Many opinions say that this song is not like a release by Blackpink. Some people even call it a "B-class" single, not worthy of the reputation and status of a top Kpop girl group.
The audience was concerned that a song lacking in highlights and bland like "Jump" could be chosen as the opening song for Blackpink's upcoming album.
Korean audiences commented: So funny, its a mess, A song like this cant be the opening song, Except for the members voices, everything is like a rush song of a small and medium-sized girl group, It seems like a song that was written hastily for a tour without much investment, Listening to a B-list song...
Other comments said Jump was too old and sounded similar to the color of the songs in the TV show Infinite Challenge Festival, composed by comedians Yoo Jae Suk or Park Myung Soo.
Some audiences think that Blackpink's new song is "like local fair music", "the song is released from a clothing store in a traditional market" or "music to practice the rhythm".
Not only that, there are comments that the choreography of Jump is also unimpressive and the Blackpink members seem to have not had much time to practice together, leading to a lack of sociability in the performance.
However, because this is not an official release, fans still expect Jump to receive a more positive reaction when releasing a quality studio version.
According to Jennie, Jump may be released this week, but she did not say a specific schedule. Management company YG Entertainment has not announced the official release date for Blackpink's new music products
