When Vietnamese music begins to "play" big
On July 30, 26 brothers and the "Anh trai say hi" crew returned to Vietnam from the US.
The success of the two music nights of "Anh trai say hi" held on July 26 and 27 (local time) at planet Hollywood Theater, Las Vegas (USA) shows that the performance industry of Vietnamese stars abroad is gradually becoming more professional.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters about the above issue, media expert Hong Quang Minh commented: The independent organization of a concert by a Vietnamese artist in the US is a remarkable milestone, not because of its grand scale, but because of the spirit of daring to do it and daring to try it.
Previously, most shows of Vietnamese artists abroad often went in a community format: performing for the homeland, on holidays or within the framework of non-commercial events.
This time, the show is sold out, organized as an artistic product with a clear strategy for guests, stage, performance content and international media.
This "big game" shows a change in thinking from pure performance to building performance products for export. This is something that the Vietnamese music industry has lacked for many years.
According to Mr. Hong Quang Minh, the Vietnamese music industry still does not have many truly professional business models in performance.
Therefore, Anh trai say hi can be considered a serious test, laying the foundation for a longer-term thinking about organizing international tours in accordance with standards.
Strategy for Vietnamese music to step out into the world

Media experts commented on the strategy that Vietnamese stars should learn from when entering the world: Instead of trying to strictly copy Western or Korean models, what Vietnam should learn is the professional thinking and the ability to integrate into the ecosystem.
An international music show is never about "making a stage and then inviting singers to sing", but must be an overall product including: Brand building, performing arts, location stories, communication plans, content commercialization plans, on-site and post-production audience experiences after the concert. Vietnam is currently only solving the emotional and performing talent stage, but is weak in the industrial part".
Vietnamese artists in the world cannot choose to transform into an international copy. Because the global market does not lack good singers, beautiful dancers, and good producers. What they lack is a new color, a culture that is capable of arousing curiosity and making the audience remember it.
Expert Hong Quang Minh shares how Vietnamese stars can maintain their identity in the trend of integrating into the world: Vietnamese artists need to find their true identity, not the ao dai with LED lights or the flute between EDM (electronic dance music), but the cultural value system they understand and live with it.
Maybe that is the charm of the Vietnamese language in its lyrics, the way we transform folk music into modern arrangement, the layers of meaning in expressions and artistic thinking associated with the life experience of the Vietnamese people.
Understanding localization is the way to a sustainable world. And I want to affirm that identity does not mean being caught up in nationwide everything, but is nature to tell stories in artistic language so that the world can understand, but still realize: Ah, this is Vietnam".
