On July 29, a consortium of contractors constructing the cable-stayed main bridge organized a trial of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge.
Accordingly, dozens of trucks carrying goods were gathered on the cable-stayed bridge of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge to conduct loading tests. Each load test lasts about 10 - 20 minutes, with dozens of trucks lining up to cross the bridge in both directions.

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), after a period of intense construction, it is expected that by July 31, the Rach Mieu 2 bridge construction project connecting the two provinces of Dong Thap and Vinh Long will complete all items, 6 months ahead of schedule.
Currently, the overall progress of the project has reached 99%, demonstrating the tireless efforts of hundreds of workers and technicians throughout the construction process. Construction units are focusing on implementing important technical experiments such as measuring cable-stayed fluctuations and checking the shock absorber system. These are indispensable steps to evaluate a modern cable-stayed bridge project like Rach Mieu 2.
It is expected that Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will be officially inaugurated and put into operation before September 2, opening a new chapter in traffic connectivity between the two Western provinces.
The investment project to build Rach Mieu 2 bridge connects Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces. The starting point is at Dong Tam intersection (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Dong Thap province; the end point connects with National Highway 60 at Ham Luong bridge approach road in Vinh Long province.
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80km/h, with a total investment of more than VND6,810 billion. After completion and putting into use, this project will help reduce the load on National Highway 60, especially the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, which often experiences traffic congestion during holidays and Tet.
