According to Box Office Vietnam, "Detective Kien: Ky an khong khong" is at the top in terms of revenue and screenings on May 7. Currently, the film earned 151 billion VND, today's revenue recorded 2.6 billion VND.
"Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang" by Ly Hai ranked 2nd, with revenue on May 7 of 1.3 billion VND.
In recent days, the two films have been chasing each other closely on the box office chart.
On May 6, "Detective Kien" was number 1 at the box office all day, but by the evening "Flip Side 8" surpassed it, with a gap of only about 400 million VND.
In just one day, the No. 1 box office position continuously changed, showing that both film genres have their own appeal to audiences.
The reason why "Detective Kien" and "Flip Side 8" are chasing each other is because the two works have a clear differentiation between the screening area and the target audience.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Duong - representative of Box Office Vietnam - said that since May 4, the screening of "Detective Kien" has caught up with "Flip Side 8".
Box Office Vietnam shared that in the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, "Detective Kien" was watched more, the number of tickets sold was more than "Flip Side 8".
Meanwhile, Ly Hai's films are popular in the neighboring provinces of Ho Chi Minh City such as the Southwest and Binh Duong because these areas have a large audience supporting and loving Ly Hai. At one point, the screening of "Flip Side 8" in these areas was double that of "Detective Kien".

According to many experts, Ly Hai and Victor Vu's films will both have a wide revenue of 200 billion VND in the near future.
"Flip Side 8" reached the 100 billion VND mark quite early, but in this work, Ly Hai entered the dead end with the old way of exploiting old topics and approaching old.
Director Ly Hai affirmed that "Flip Side 8" will hardly surpass the 482 billion VND revenue of part 7: "It is very difficult to really surpass the record of "Flip Side 7". I personally came to cinema from the zero number. I only have dreams and ambitions. I did not give myself many numbers to achieve and overcome. Being a filmmaker helps me become better and more perfect."
Meanwhile, "Detective for the Record" is supported by many young audiences due to the curious topic of spiritual reconnaissance. However, some opinions say that the film is just a round amount, not too excellent.
