After 2 weeks of release, "APT." by Rose (Blackpink) and Bruno Mars is still sweeping Top 1 on international charts such as Spotify Global and Apple Music Global.
At the same time, the song maintained its appeal in Korea by achieving hundreds of hours of Perfect All-Kill (ranking No. 1 on all major Korean music streaming platforms including Melon, Genie, Bugs, FLO, VIBE, and YouTube Music, as well as winning No. 1 on Instiz iChart's real-time and weekly charts).
But by the afternoon of October 31, “APT.” lost its Perfect All-Kill streak due to the appearance of G-Dragon. The Big Bang leader released his solo song “Power” and rose to Top 1 Bugs, Top 2 Melon, Top 2 Genie after only 1 hour. By 11pm on October 31, “Power” took the Top 1 Genie position from “APT.”.
Returning as a solo artist after 7 years, G-Dragon immediately proved his influence in Korea. "Power" is the song with the highest number of unique listeners in the first hour of release on Melon in 2024, with 83,313 streams.
However, by 3:00 p.m. on November 1, “APT.” had regained the No. 1 position on all iChart charts, continuing to achieve its 107th Perfect All-Kill (updated every hour). By 11:00 p.m. on the same day, “APT." had achieved 115 hours of Perfect All-Kill.
Meanwhile, "Power" also held steady at No. 2 on the real-time and daily charts of many platforms including Melon, Genie, Bugs, Flo and ranked Top 2 on iChart's real-time chart.
“Power” recorded 528,998 unique streams on Melon in the first 24 hours, the highest achievement of 2024. “Power” is currently ranked 2nd on the list of songs with the highest number of daily unique listeners on Melon of the year, closely following “APT.” with 628,134 streams.
Rose and G-Dragon are currently in a fierce pursuit of achievements in Korea.
In addition, Korean audiences are also interested in the current Melon Top 10 rankings.
The artists participating are mostly from the top 3 entertainment companies YG, SM and JYP including Rose, G-Dragon, Jennie, AKMU (YG); aespa, Karina (SM); DAY6 (JYP). There are absolutely no HYBE artists such as Seventeen, LE SSERAFIM, TXT, ILLIT, TWS…
This is of interest because HYBE recently shocked the Korean music industry, when the group's internal report was released during the National Assembly audit. The report contained many fabricated rumors, disparaging comments, and insults against many artists of other Kpop companies.
Many believe that the current Melon Top 10 rankings show that the Kpop industry is on the way to “returning to normal,” as the “Big 3” companies once again dominate the charts without HYBE.
