Joy News 24 magazine conducted a survey from September 30 to October 8, to give a ranking of many contents of the Korean entertainment industry such as TV dramas, movies, actors, singers, entertainment figures... in 2024.
200 industry employees, including employees of entertainment companies, broadcasters, film and television content producers, as well as entertainment reporters, participated in the survey.
According to Joy News 24, in the first half of 2024, two tvN dramas, “Queen of Tears” and “Lovely Runner,” achieved great results, and in the second half of 2024, SBS’s “Good Partner” was also successful.
Along with that, the reputation of the main cast also increased. Among them, Byeon Woo Seok suddenly rose to fame, becoming a top star. Joy News 24 affirmed that Byeon Woo Seok "is so famous that it is not an exaggeration to say that he will swallow up 2024".
Byeon Woo Seok topped the poll for best actor of the year, with 56 votes. After “Running on Your Back”, he was dubbed the “first love icon” of Korean cinema, perfectly portraying the nature of an innocent boy.
In the film, Byeon Woo Seok shows off his looks, singing ability, performing like a real singer, and conquering young audiences with his acting ability. Byeon Woo Seok has created the "Seon Jae syndrome" all over the world.
Jang Nara ranked 2nd with 36 votes. In "Perfect Partner", the actress had an impressive performance. She played Cha Eun Kyung, a famous divorce lawyer with 17 years of experience, but had to face her own troubled marriage when her husband had an affair.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won were voted the 3rd and 4th best actors of the year, with 34 and 26 votes, respectively.
Although "Queen of Tears" still has controversies about the perfection of the script, there is no controversy about the acting of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won.
After each episode, online communities are flooded with videos praising Kim Soo Hyun’s emotional acting. Many even say they continue to watch the show because of the performances of the two main actors.
Song Kang Ho and Park Shin Hye tied for fifth place with seven votes each. The next actors to receive three votes were Son Hyun Joo, Choi Min Sik, Ji Sung, Cheon Woo Hee, Sol Kyung Gu, Shin Min Ah and Kim Hye Yoon.
