Born in 1943 in Ha Tay (old), the late musician Doan Bong soon showed artistic talent. The big turning point came at the age of 23, when he was the only contestant in the Hanoi area to be admitted to the Faculty of Composition of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music. This was an important foundation for him to step into the path of professional composition.
After graduating, musician Doan Bong worked at the Liberation Radio Station, then moved to Vietnam Television in the early stages of domestic television.
In a dynamic working environment, he participates in building many music programs with rich themes, from folk songs, chamber music, revolutionary music to youth music. This process helps him accumulate experiences, and at the same time shape an emotional but approachable and easily spreading creative style.
The musical legacy of the late musician Doan Bong includes more than 300 songs, spanning many topics. The most prominent are 3 major areas: love for homeland - country; the image of President Ho Chi Minh; Hanoi Capital.

In addition to music, the late musician also wrote poetry. The poetry collection "Starting from the Eyes" released in 2023 shows a different perspective of an artist, calm and thoughtful.
