On the evening of July 11, Sing's Semi-final 1! Asia 2025 witnessed the surprising rise of the contestants Ai Tan Giac La Mi (China) and Amsyar (Malaysia).
With an explosive performance, the duo not only achieved the highest score of the competition night but was also considered one of the most formidable opponents for Vietnamese representative Phuong My Chi in the journey ahead.

Ai Tan Giac La Mi is already a prominent name in this year's contestants.
With a sharp style and powerful voice, she quickly attracted attention from the first rounds.
The modern performance style with classic features helps Mi always maintain her position as a formidable "stage warrior".
In contrast to his co-star, Amsyar - real name Muhammad Amir Syafiq Mohd Sadri - is a fairly new name to most audiences.
Born in 1999 in Malaysia, Amsyar started her singing career from covers on social media and caused controversy when using a avocado voice to sing songs that are female.
Although not highly appreciated from the beginning, Amsyar has gradually proven remarkable progress, especially in high-processing techniques and the ability to convey emotions through songs.
It was that contrast that created a surprising combination.
In Semi-final 1, the couple chose two difficult ballad masses, Never Leaving and I Surrender.
The song opens gently, passionately with Mi's warm singing, before exploding with Amsyar's technical and dramatic improvised notes.

Judge Truong Luong Dinh commented: "The two voices are surprisingly contrasted but blend excellently".
Judge To Huu Bang simply expressed: "Gold filling".
The final result, Ai Tan Giac La Mi and Amsyar won 28.5 points from three direct judges and achieved a total of 204.8 points after 21 online judges voted.
This is the highest score in the five contestants.
With this achievement, they officially entered the Top 8 of the contest and were considered the leading candidate for the Sing championship! Asia this season.
Amsyar's breakthrough is especially impressive to audiences and the media.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's representative Phuong My Chi and her co-star Kha Lau (China) also had good performances with "Tuy Am" and "Loc Hai Vi Vuong", receiving a total score of 190.6 and winning tickets to continue.
Sing! Asia 2025 will continue to enter Semi-final 2 on July 18, where the contestants will face off directly to compete for a ticket to the Final.
