According to Koreaboo, Blackpink is facing an alarming wave of hacks across major music platforms, causing fans to worry.
The initial seemingly small incidents gradually escalated into a serious disruption, affecting the song's performance marking the group's comeback after 3 years - "Jump".
In April, fans discovered that Blackpink's Spotify account had been hacked, when Blackpink's representative photo was replaced with a photo of the girl group Kiss Of Life.
The incident occurred right after Blackpink received some criticism for their trainee videos being leaked. In particular, the Blackpink members used "n-word" (terroristic term, insulting people of color) in the song covers before the release.
In addition to the promotional photo, a short clip from Blackpink's song "Shut Down" was replaced with an inappropriate cartoon.
When Blackpink returned with the new song "Jump" in mid-July, the group's account hacking incidents recurred.
Jump climbed to No. 1 on the global Spotify chart after just one day of release, after which the song maintained its No. 1 position for 6 consecutive days. But on the 7th day, Jump dropped to 4th place and dropped more than 1 million streams compared to the previous day.
Blackpink fans pointed out that Jumps drop in the rankings is likely due to Blackpinks Spotify account continuing to be hacked.
The official track of Jump has been changed to artist names Blocky and Neriim. As a result, the song was removed from major playlistings and lost its automatic playback position. On the day Blackpink's Spotify account was hacked, "Jump" dropped more than 1 million streams.
The platform was questioned because top artist songs all increased in streamings, only Blackpink's "Jump" and Sombr's song dropped sharply due to accounts being hacked on the same day.
The problem is not limited to Spotify. Blackpink's music on the Apple Music platform was also targeted. The group's song introduction has been edited to "The Blackpink".
Fans reported that when playing the songs, the sound shifted quickly, and the chart rankings were affected, in which one song was completely removed from the daily chart.
Even Blackpink's account on Shazam displayed the changed information.
Although Jump achieved impressive international results while not having many promotional activities, the consecutive attacks and organization still caused clear damage to Blackpink.
Up to now, management company YG Entertainment has not made any official statement about the incident, causing fans to be confused and disappointed.
