Chosun Korea reported on November 27 that after a major fire at an apartment complex in Hong Kong (China), attention is also focusing on whether the "2025 MAMA Awards" awards ceremony, the leading K-Pop music event scheduled to be held in Hong Kong (China) will take place as planned.

According to the Hong Kong Fire Agency (China) on November 27, the fire broke out at around 2:52 p.m. the previous day at "Wang Fuk Court", a high-rise apartment complex in Tai Po area, north of Hong Kong (China). As of now, at least 44 people have been killed and 279 people are missing, the number of casualties is expected to continue to increase.
The apartment building where the fire occurred is about 20 km from Kai Tak Stadium - where the 2025 MAMA Awards were scheduled to be held on November 28-29, equivalent to about 20 minutes by car.
In the context of being overwhelmed by the spirit of mourning, many K-pop fans expressed concern and thought that the awards ceremony could be canceled or had to be postponed.
CJ ENM - the organizer of the MAMA Awards is currently in a difficult situation. Because before that, many music groups such as Stray Kids, IVE, (G)I-DLE, RIIZE, ENHYPEN, TXT, ZEROBASEONE, NCT WISH... departed for Hong Kong (China) to attend this year's awards ceremony.

The organizing unit is also said to be considering the participation of stars expected to participate as awards ceremony organizers, such as Chau Nhuan Phat and Duong Tu Quynh. Even if the award ceremony is forced to take place according to plan, the script and staging direction will still have to be adjusted greatly, leading to many changes. In particular, the organizing committee is carefully reviewing to remove all staging details related to the "fire".
