On October 16, the 2025 MAMA Awards officially announced the nomination list.
To be eligible, the musical works must be released between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025. The judging criteria have changed compared to last year.
Artist of the Year category and Artist categories: 40% judges evaluation, 30% streaming/ downloads (20% in Korea + 10% globally), 30% physical album sales.
Song of the Year category and Music category: 40% judges evaluation, 60% streams/downloads (40% Korea + 20% globally).
Album of the Year category: 40% judges review, 60% physical album sales (only consider albums that have sold at least 1 million copies).
Categories Best video music and Best choreography: 100% judges evaluation.
This year, the names that dominated the nomination list include Rose (Blackpink), Jennie (Blackpink), G-Dragon (Big Bang)...
The 2025 MAMA awards ceremony will take place at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong (China) on November 28 and 29.
