On October 19, W Korea magazine - the organizer of the charity event "Love Your W" officially apologized, after the Korean public criticized the event for being weekend activities, far from the original humanitarian goal of raising awareness of breast cancer.
According to W Korea, the organizing committee sincerely received mixed opinions that the content and way of organizing the event were not really in line with the spirit of the campaign.
We would like to express our deep apologies for not fully considering the emotions and circumstances of breast cancer patients, leading to unwanted discomfort and damage.
We also apologize to those who attended the event with a charitable heart, but encountered unnecessary controversy," W Korea wrote.
The magazine emphasized that in the 20-year journey of the campaign (since 2006), they have always focused on spreading the message of early detection of breast cancer and supporting treatment for women in difficult circumstances through the Korea Breast Cancer Health Fund.
The organizing committee is committed to reviewing the entire planning and organization process of the event, to ensure that all future activities are carried out carefully and in accordance with the original purpose.
After the apology, W Korea deleted all information and posts about this year's charity party from their social media accounts.

Previously, a series of photos and videos of artists dressing up in branded goods, drinking alcohol and dancing happily at charity parties were met with public outrage.
The Love Your W 2025 event as usual still has hundreds of guests attending who are famous Kpop actors and idols. However, the most criticized names are some famous faces such as 3 members of BTS - V, RM, J-Hope; Karina (aespa); Jang Won Young (IVE)...
According to Allkpop, entertainment companies' reactions to W Korea are not very positive. Some companies were not satisfied because W Korea responded slowly when the controversy broke out, causing artists to be criticized and mocked.
This scandal will also force companies to consider letting their artists participate in similar events next year.
At the same time, the public requested the organizing committee to clarify the use of the funds that are being suspected.
Because based on a report from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the total amount of money that W Korea transferred to the Korean Breast Cancer Health Fund in the period of 2007 - 2025 only reached 315.69 million won. This is a big difference from the 1.1 billion won that W Korea has disclosed.
Regarding this, W Korea explained that, in addition to donating through the Korea Breast Cancer Health Fund, they also support a number of other organizations, so the data does not fully display the data.
However, the public still believes that the charity activities of the Love Your W campaign are not transparent.
