In the moments recording the practice process for the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day, a girl from the Saigon Storm Women's Union was noticed by the audience for her outstanding beauty.
This female soldier is Congresswoman Bui Thi Phuong Ngoc, parading in the position of Military Guard. Phuong Ngoc's photos were shared by the online community, receiving many compliments.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Phuong Ngoc said she was surprised by everyone's love. "I was surprised because many people were interested. Participating in the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification is also a source of pride and honor for me and my family," Phuong Ngoc expressed.
Bui Thi Phuong Ngoc was born in 2001 in Dong Nai, currently working at the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command.
She was registered for the Miss Vietnam 2022 contest and entered the top 15 of Miss Ocean Vietnam 2023.
In February 2024, Phuong Ngoc volunteered to join the army, as one of 4 female recruits registered in Dong Nai. She thought that defending the Fatherland was not just a man's duty, so she registered for military service and was drafted.
Phuong Ngoc said that after graduating from university, she often came into contact with friends who were soldiers, so she gradually fell in love with the army uniforms.
For Phuong Ngoc, military service is a long journey, many challenges, but also a valuable opportunity to practice discipline. She has also been supported and encouraged by her parents during her work.
When competing in beauty contests, Phuong Ngoc once made an impression thanks to her outstanding education. She won the second prize for the best student in Literature at the provincial level and the second prize in the Ao Dai Charming Contest at the city level. In grade 12, she enrolled in the Communist Party of Vietnam at Xuan Loc High School (Dong Nai).
"The beauty pageant is the motivation for me to mature and gain more life experience. Know your strengths, weaknesses and shortcomings to become a perfect person. Every day I learn more life skills, the necessary values of a brave woman", Phuong Ngoc said.
In addition, Phuong Ngoc has been a host and reader for activities and programs while studying at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
