Miss Intercontinental 2022 Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc was present in Baku, Azerbaijan in a series of events from November 11-20 to attend the 29th United Nations Climate Summit (COP 29).
This is one of the most important events in the world on climate change. The event includes representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the Vietnam Working Group on Climate Change Negotiations; representatives of a number of agencies, localities, banks, and businesses implementing Vietnam's commitments at COP26.
Bao Ngoc attended as the founder of Gen Zero - Youth For Sustainability and representative of the Youth Network for Climate Action - YNet Vietnam.
The Gen Zero project was conceived and launched by Bao Ngoc 6 years ago, before she entered the beauty pageant. The project's goal is to encourage young people and the community to take action for the environment.
With the motto Youth for Sustainable Development, the Gen Zero Project focuses on connecting generations of young people with sustainable development goals, especially goal 13 on urgent action to combat climate change.
Miss Bao Ngoc led and monitored the negotiation with young representatives of Southeast Asia, bringing practical and realistic perspectives in promoting climate action.
Miss Bao Ngoc was also invited to the UN Secretary General's discussion with young people with the theme "Secretary General's discussion with young climate leaders at COP 29".
Bao Ngoc has actively followed important negotiations and debates between countries and organizations, focusing on sustainability and environmental policies.
The beauty queen especially followed the “National Adaptation Plan”, an important topic for developing countries. This is an opportunity for representatives of these countries to present specific solutions and commitments on sustainable development.
