On the evening of July 18, the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards took place in Incheon, South Korea.
Blue Dragon Television is an award organized by Sports Chosun - the creator of the prestigious Blue Dragon Film Award in Korea, which has existed for 45 years.
Unlike traditional drama awards ceremonies, the Blue Dragon Television Awards are dedicated to honoring original content produced by over-the-air (OTT) services.
From June 2024 to the end of May 2025 (the airing time of nominating works), the Korean OTT film market has developed strongly with many hit works.
This year, two Netflix films, When Life Gives You Tangerines and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, won with each film winning 3 awards.
The Daesang (grand prize) of Blue Dragon Television went to "When Life Is for You a Tangle".
The work that aired in early 2025 also won big as the female lead of the film, IU, surpassed heavyweights such as Park Eun Bin (Hyper Knife), Seo Hyun Jin (The Trunk), Lee Hyeri (Friendly Rivalry) and Cha Joo Young (The Queen Who Crowns) to win the Best Actress award.
In addition, Yeom Hye Ran of When Life Is for You won the Best Supporting Actress award.
Meanwhile, the Best Film award went to Trauma Care Center.
The film's male lead Joo Ji Hoon defeated 4 candidates Park Bo Gum (When Life Gives You Tangerines), Park Hae Soo (Karma), Lee Byung Hun (Squid Game 2) and Lee Jun Hyuk (Dongjae, The Good or the Bastard) to win the Best Actor award.
In addition, Choo Young Woo of Trauma Care Center was awarded the Best New Actor award.
The Best Supporting Actor award went to Lee Kwang Soo from Karma.
The Best New Actress award went to Kim Min Ha of Way Back Love.
The 4 faces that won the Most Favorite Star award are Park Bo Gum, Lee Hyeri, Lee Joon Hyuk and IU.
