According to the Korea Times, Park Bo Gum will launch powerful punches in his latest role as a former boxing champion who turned police officer in JTBC's weekend drama "Good Boy".
In this high-energy action comedy, Park Bo Gum leads a group of people who have won outstanding medals - from shooting, fighting to throwing plates, fighting swords - recruited specifically to law enforcement.
Together they form a team like "Avengers" that promotes justice and destroys criminals with both intelligence and strength.
Far from the gentle, handsome image in Netflix's recent hit "When Life Gives You Tangerines", in this role, Park Bo Gum will show his strong physical strength and humor in the genre he calls "a completely new start".
Park Bo Gum has been constantly seeking new challenges since completing his mandatory military service in 2022, and the action film "Good Boy" is one of them. The actor said that turning 30 motivated him to pursue bolder choices.
"I have a strong desire to try everything I want when I can. If I had been building my film career step by step before, now I want to at least walk quickly, if not run.
By taking on roles, professions and genres that I have never tried before, I want to expand my limits," Park Bo Gum shared.

The actor further explained that Good Boy was a real challenge for him and his co-stars.
The action, comedy and investigation aspects that I have never shown before mark a new beginning for me.
All the actors here learn new sports for this project, so we not only show action and sports scenes that have never been seen in other dramas, but also transform them into completely new characters. I think it is a fresh start and a challenge for all of us, not just me, the actor shared.
Principal photography was delayed for more than a month due to Park Bo Gum's minor injuries. Despite the incident, he still expressed his gratitude for the support of his co-stars and the film crew during the filming process that required a lot of physical strength.
I want the athletes to say that I really look like a professional athlete or I did that very well, so I often come early to do the action scenes.
We have been practicing together for over 6 months, practicing every day. But at one point, I was a bit too ambitious and slightly injured, which slowed down the filming process.
After recovering for 1 and a half months, I worked hard without a single day off. Thats why I think this project will be remembered by me for a long time, Park Bo Gum recalled.
Good Boy starring Park Bo Gum and the cast of Kim So Hyun, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, Tae Won Suk will air its first episode on the evening of May 31 on JTBC.
