Fifty Fifty's management company ATTRAKT said on September 28 that the five-member girl group will not be promoting on SBS's weekly music show Inkigayo.
Last August, SBS's investigative program "Unanswered Questions" aired an episode about the dispute between Fifty Fifty members (the former lineup of 4 members Aran, Saena, Keena, Sio) and the management company ATTRAKT.
The program was criticized for not investigating clearly, reporting biased and one-sided news, and intentionally causing harm to ATTRAKT as well as CEO Jeon Hong Jun.
ATTRAKT has filed a complaint against the show's production team for defamation by providing false information.
SBS had to remove the broadcast and apologize after Dispatch continued to prove that some of the information in the program was false. But they did not make any public apology to ATTRAKT.
CEO Jeon Hong Jun explained the reason for not allowing the new lineup of Fifty Fifty to participate in the music show Inkigayo: "Unanswered Questions has never directly apologized to us for portraying the incident in a negative light.
Even if you consider variety shows and investigative shows as separate fields, it doesn't change the fact that they have damaged ATTRAKT's reputation.
It's okay if we don't advertise there. I'd rather protect my dignity and self-respect than chase after money."
Recently, Fifty Fifty returned with a new lineup of 5 members, including old member Keena (2002) and 4 completely new faces - Chanelle (2003), Yewon (2005), Hana (2006), Athena (2007).
The group released the mini album “Love Tune” consisting of 4 songs, and is currently promoting the title track “SOS” on music shows M! Countdown (Mnet), Music Bank (KBS2), and Music Core (MBC).
The famous Korean music critic site IZM gave Fifty Fifty's album "Love Tune" 4.5/5 points.
This site rates this album as "close to perfect" with easy-to-listen, comfortable melodies that audiences can easily sing along to from the first listen.
The new lineup of Fifty Fifty is also receiving very positive feedback from the public.
