The movie "Dark Nuns" officially arrived at the Vietnamese screening location from January 21. Currently, the film earns 3.2 billion VND, according to Box Office Vietnam.
Previously, the film caused a box office fever in Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines.
"Dark Nuns" is a spinoff of the movie "The Priests" that made waves at the Korean box office in 2015. In the film, the boy Hee Joon (Moon Woo Jin) is possessed by a spirit, saved by Sister Junia (Song Hye Kyo) and Sister Michaela (Jeon Yeo Bin).
According to the law of the Korean Cong stations, women's minors are not allowed to organize exorcism rituals themselves, but at the same time limit exorcism rituals and let medical staff treat patients.
Therefore, the journey of the two nuns encountered many difficulties when they had to perform the exorcism secretly, the ceremony location was makeshift, without human support.
Playing the role of a nun with a dark past, Song Hye Kyo showed her efforts to portray the character as thorny, cheerful, and determined. The actress smoke, wade through the river, bravely confront the forces of the villain to shine in the final scene when the character sinks into the sea of fire.
According to Chosun Daily, Song Hye Kyo has made a big step forward in acting, when expressing diverse expressions, combining strength and range of emotions. "Song Hye Kyo's deep, resounding voice makes the work mysterious."

"Dark Nuns" brings together a cast of talented actors, with the complete performances of Song Hye Kyo, Jeon Yeo Bin and child star Moon Woo Jin.
The two nuns were built with opposite personalities. Junia is a strong person, knowledgeable and has strong faith, not afraid of the Devil. Michaela is still unable to move, weak and has past obsessions due to possessing the ability to see dead souls.
In the first half, the film introduces the characters' personal lives, arranging a series of mysterious phenomena that arouse curiosity. Director Kwon Hyeo Jae surprised everyone when he collaborated with Western Catholic rituals and Korean Shamanism.
Traditional Korean cultural elements such as Samshin Halmoni (three ancestral gods), male drums, sea medicine rituals... are surprising creative locations.
However, the film still has many negative points in the script, "elephant head, rat tail" in the way the plot is built. The script expresses many details in the journey to present So Junia in preparation for the exorcism ceremony such as the bai series revealing the origin of the Devil, the legend of 12 evil spirits, talented priests living in hiding...
However, the exorcism took place quickly and sotionally, lacking twists to take advantage of the data revealed in the previous part. The boy was possessed by an evil spirit and had signs such as terrible words, his face changed but did not cause any surprises, he was completely tied up and harmless with the two nuns.
The character So Michaela has special abilities, a shaky body but the task is just to... sit and read a kinh nghiem, the psychological development is predictable, always passive from beginning to end of the film.
Korean media assessed that there are stepping steps from "Exhuma" and many other spiritual works that have caused a stir before, but "Dark Nuns" is unlikely to break through achievements because the script is still folded and the motif is familiar to the audience.
However, the film still has a bright spot in Song Hye Kyo's acting, marking 10 years of her return to Korean cinema and transforming from the image of a "TV series goddess" who is only beautiful and lacks acting depth.
