Although not from a traditional artistic family, artist Van Toan is talented and soon became destined for acting in the 60s of the 20th century. After many hesitations and selections, he decided to take the entrance exam to the Drama School, becoming the first batch of students.
After graduating, artist Van Toan returned to work at Vietnam National Drama Theatre, where he stayed until 2000 and retired.
