Kpop idol Rose of Blackpink is creating a global fever with the song “APT.” in collaboration with 15-time Grammy-winning pop star - Bruno Mars.
“APT.” is currently occupying the Top 1 spot on Spotify and iTunes charts globally, and is also the Top 1 spot on Spotify in the US. In Korea, the song is sweeping the No. 1 spot on all major music charts.
“APT.” is the lead single from Rose's 12-track debut full album "Rosie" which will be released on December 6.
In a recent interview, Rose said she put a lot of heart into this album.
The singer revealed that she flew to Los Angeles for several weeks, planning to record the songs for the album continuously for 14 days to complete it. However, by the 10th day, Rose was exhausted.
So she canceled her recording sessions over the weekend to take some time off. But when she did get a break, Rose didn't know what to do. She jumped up, went to another studio, and recorded another song for the album.
Rose expressed that during the time she made the album, she was "addicted" to the feeling of being in the studio.
In addition, when attending meetings with Atlantis Records, Rose always tries to be independent, to be the "boss" with the attitude of "So what do you have for me?". Rose emphasized that this is a very important album to her, so she wants everything to be perfect.
Rose's sharing surprised many people and made them admire her dedication to this album.
To date, the song "APT." has maintained the No. 1 position on the Spotify Global and Spotify US charts for 2 consecutive days. The song's streaming volume has increased continuously for 4 days since its release.
On October 21, “APT.” reached 14.18 million streams on Spotify globally and 1.96 million streams on Spotify US - Rose's highest single-song streaming achievement to date.
Rose still holds the record for being the first female K-pop solo artist in history to reach the top 1 on Spotify globally and the first female K-pop artist to reach the top 1 on Spotify in the US. “APT.” is also the song by an Asian female artist with the most streams in a single day.
