Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook collaborate in historical drama

Korean media reported that Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook will work together in a new historical drama, starting filming in March 2025.

On the morning of October 24, Daum (Korea) reported that Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook will collaborate in a historical drama. The project is produced by Netflix, based on the famous 2003 R-18 movie "Untold Scandal".

The film revolves around the differences between men and women in the Joseon era. The story is about the charming lady Cho and the promiscuous guy Jo Won. The two participate in a love "game" and have an ambiguous relationship with each other.

But Jo Won, while conquering his goal, fell in love with a virtuous widow who kept her chastity after her husband died.

With Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook's remake, the film will use the name "Scandal" and build the content into a long-running television series. The two screen stars will transform into characters living in the Joseon Dynasty.

The film is directed by Jeong Ji Woo, who is behind a series of famous works such as “Happy End”, “Modern Boy”, “Eungyo” and “Yuyeol's Music Album”.

According to information from Korean media, “Scandal” is expected to start filming in March 2025. However, currently, the audience is very interested and looking forward to the cooperation of the couple Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook.

As for the 2003 version of "Untold Scandal," the movie starring Bae Yong Joon and Jeon Do Yeon attracted over 3 million viewers and won many awards. Notably, the movie had an age restriction because it contained "hot" scenes.

"Untold Scandal" is adapted from the French novel "Dangerous Liaisons" and is set in the Joseon Dynasty. At that time, the work of Bae Yong Joon and Jeon Do Yeon conquered domestic and international audiences.

Therefore, with the remake, Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook will face many challenges. Although expected, they must overcome the shadow of the 2003 version, bringing a fresher perspective.
