After 3 days of release, the blockbuster Superman (Vietnamese title: Super Nhan) has brought in 122 million USD (about 3.18 billion VND) in the North American market, becoming the 3rd domestic release with the highest revenue in 2025, after Acraft Movie (162 million USD) and Lilo & Stitch (146 million USD).
The film is directed by James Gunn and marks the opening of the DC cinematic universe under the guidance of him and Peter safran, marking the glorious return of the "steel man" after 12 years of absence.
According to The Economic Times, this domestic revenue has put the "super boy" at the top of the box office at the weekend of its release.
According to Box Office, in addition to US revenue, the film continues to earn 95 million USD (about 2.48 billion VND) from 78 international markets, bringing the total global revenue after 3 days to 217 million USD (about 5.66 billion VND).
This project also became the 3rd highest-grossing domestically released Hollywood film of 2025.
According to Hypebeast, the "superman" was once targeted by Warner Bros at a very cautious estimate of 100 million USD (about 2.6 billion VND) for the domestic market, however, experts are currently targeting the 120 - 130 million USD (about 3.1 - 3.3 billion VND) milestone.
Although it is still more than 166 million USD (about 4.3 billion VND) behind Batman v Superman (2016), the film has surpassed Man of Steel 2013 with 116 million USD opening domestically, according to figures from Box Office.
The production cost of 225 million USD (about 5.8 billion VND) and 100 million USD (about 2.6 billion VND) are promoted, causing the "super heroes" to need to reach the global milestone of 500 - 700 million USD (about 13 - 18.2 billion VND) to be considered a complete success.
On the audience and critics side, the film was rated quite well by both sides: 82% on Rotten Tomatoes and the A‐ score at CinemaScore.
This is the highest response rate among the Super People films since the classic series with chrstopher Reeve.
NBC New York, The Washington Post commented that this start marked a turning point in the success of DC Studios, which had previously had many failed films.
Polygon commented that super Nhan is not just a blockbuster but also a premise for the entire first phase of the new DC Universe (DCU: Gods and Monsters), with many follow-up projects such as Supergirl (launched in the summer of 2026), Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Clayface.
