At 12:00 on February 14 (Vietnam time), Kpop idol Jisoo (Blackpink) returned with the mini album "Amortage", including 2 Korean songs "Earthquake", "Tears" and 2 English songs "Your Love", "Hugs & Kisses".
Of which, the title track Earthquake was released an official MV on YouTube.
Returning to the music race after nearly 2 years since the single album "Me" and the MV "Flower" released in March 2023, Jisoo has had active promotional activities for the mini album "Amortage".
She posted trailer videos and many title images for the songs in the album. The MV "Earthquake" was released on Valentine's Day, so it was highly anticipated.
However, the release success of the title track Earthquake in Korea was not as expected. After 1 hour of release, Earthquake only took 73rd place on the Bugs chart and 242nd place on Genie, unable to enter the top domestic chart - Melon Top 100.
The early-hour achievements of Earthquake were far behind the song Flower with 6th place Bugs, 10th place Genie and 16th place Melon Top 100.
At the same time, Jisoo's new song, although a Korean song, is ranked in Korea even behind Rose's English song "Number one girl" (43rd Melon, 17th Genie, 5th Bugs).
The MV Earthquake depicts the uncontrollable emotions of love when it takes over a persons heart and mind. The MV is invested in images, stories and choreography. Notably, actor Cha Seung Won - a former colleague of YG Entertainment - participated in Jisoo's MV.
On forums, audiences commented on the mixed reviews of the MV Earthquake.
Many opinions said that Earthquake has a somewhat vibrant, catchy beat. However, Jisoo's raw singing and unimpressive processing techniques have reduced the song's appeal.
After releasing a mini album, Jisoo will organize her first solo fan meeting tour called "Lights, Love, Action! ", stopping in 7 cities in Asia throughout 2025.
