According to information from Korean media, on March 19 (Korean time), Winter donated a total of 200 million won (about 133.6 million - 134,000 USD), of which 100 million won was sent to UNICEF Korea and 100 million won was sent to the "Patient Happiness Fund" of the Samsung Medical Center.
The donation will be used to support children affected by conflicts, disasters and patients facing difficult circumstances, reducing burdens in the treatment and recovery process.
Sharing about this decision, Winter expressed her wish that people who have lost their daily rhythm for many reasons in the world will soon return to peaceful life. The female idol said she wants to "respond to the love received from fans in a meaningful way".
This is not the first time Winter has participated in charity activities. Previously, she had donated to support forest fire victims in the Yeongnam area and participated with aespa members in many relief campaigns related to fires and natural disasters abroad.
Notably, with this contribution, aespa members are also recognized as joining the UNICEF Honor Club - a group honoring major donors, showing a long-term orientation towards community activities.
