Kpop group Blackpink (Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, Rose) has just successfully organized 2 "sold out" music nights at Goyang Stadium (Korea), attracting more than 78,000 spectators.
These are the concerts that kick off the Deadline world tour, also marking Blackpink's return to the stage with a full lineup after about 2 years, so they have been responded to and eagerly awaited by fans around the world.
However, amid the excitement of the Blinks fan community, there were audiences outraged by their seating position in the concert.
The audience in the N3 area reported spending 132,000 won (about $98) to buy tickets, and the tickets did not mention limited visibility. But in reality, their seats were completely out of place to see the stage, because they were obscured by a giant LED screen in the middle of the stadium.
This situation has caused a backlash online. Many fans called on affected audiences to file complaints with consumer protection agencies to claim their rights.
On July 7, management company YG Entertainment responded to the audience's concerns.
The company apologized deeply for the inconvenience of having limited stage visibility in the N3 area of Blackpink's concert, making it difficult for some audiences to enjoy the performance.
The company explained that they have installed LED screens to improve the difficulty of observing the stage for audiences sitting away, but this does not bring the expected efficiency and causes unwanted inconvenience.
YG announced that it will take measures to deal with audiences who have encountered inconvenience in this area. The company also promised to consider more carefully so that the audience can have a good experience in the following concerts.
According to the Korea Fair Trade Commission, if the poor visibility is due to the fault of the event organizer, the audience has the right to a full refund of the ticket price and an additional 10% compensation.
