On August 27, according to information from the Lang Son Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), 4 inter-level boarding primary and secondary schools in Kien Moc, Khuat Xa, Mau Son and Quoc Khanh communes are being urgently completed.
Projects started at the end of 2025, using the central budget. By August 24, the main blocks had completed the rough construction, switched to installing equipment, completing classrooms, dormitories, dining rooms and infrastructure.
The investor sets a target to complete it before August 31st to serve the 2026-2027 school year.
Mau Son School achieved the highest progress, about 97%. Class blocks have been completed; dining halls, dormitories, official residences and electricity and water systems reached 90-95%. Multipurpose buildings, swimming pools and bridge corridors continue to be constructed.
Quoc Khanh School reached about 95%, of which six blocks of classrooms have been completed. Administration building, library, dining hall, dormitory and fire prevention and fighting system are being completed.
In Khuat Xa, the total volume of construction and equipment reached about 93%. The secondary school block and two boarding areas were basically completed; the primary school block reached 87%, the dining hall and multi-purpose building reached 80%.
Kien Moc School reached about 90%. The construction site maintains 550 workers to complete classrooms, dormitories, official residences and infrastructure. Most of the main projects reached over 90%, but internal roads only reached 38-40%.
4 projects have a total capital demand of more than 1,368 billion VND, more than 1,348 billion VND has been allocated and about 763 billion VND has been disbursed.
When put into use, the schools have a total of 138 classes, meeting the accommodation for 4,728 students. Khuat Xa and Mau Son each school has a scale of 36 classes, 1,260 students; Quoc Khanh includes 36 classes, 1,158 students; Kien Moc has 30 classes, 1,050 students.
Kien Moc alone has enrolled 943 students out of 1,025 targets for the new school year, reaching 92%, including 642 boarding students and 301 semi-boarding students. Due to the large area and difficult traffic, the locality continues to mobilize elementary school students to go to class.
Lang Son is also preparing to build 7 more schools in Cao Loc, Ba Son, Hoang Van Thu, Thuy Hung, Quoc Viet, Khang Chien and Dong Dang. The total estimated cost is more than 2,126 billion VND, with a scale of 200 classes, serving 7.025 students.
5 localities have approved local planning adjustments. 2 projects in Hoang Van Thu and Dong Dang are completing procedures because they are located in the Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone. The project in Quoc Viet continues to clear ground after changing construction locations.
