On August 4, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that construction units are focusing maximum manpower and machinery, organizing many construction teams at the same time to accelerate the construction progress of 4 ethnic minority boarding schools in A Mu Sung, Muong Khuong, Y Ty and Pha Long communes.
According to reporters' records, the construction atmosphere at the construction sites is taking place urgently.
Hundreds of locomotives and equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, trucks, cranes and many construction teams, electricity and water installation teams, and interior completion teams were mobilized to work continuously.
Many items are being implemented in parallel to shorten construction time, meeting the goal of putting the project into use to serve the new school year.
In total, more than 1,660 engineers, workers and laborers are working at 4 projects.
In which, the Y Ty Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School project mobilized the largest force with 531 workers, followed by Pha Long with 420 workers, A Mu Sung 378 workers and Muong Khuong 337 workers.
Currently, A Mu Sung Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School has the highest progress, reaching about 88% of the construction volume.
Classrooms, dormitories, administration buildings and basic technical infrastructure have been completed, contractors are focusing on the final stages such as painting, installing equipment, completing electricity, water, landscape and construction sanitation systems.
Second in terms of progress is Muong Khuong Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School with about 85% of the volume. The main items have all taken shape, while the multi-purpose building is almost completed.
Workers are urgently constructing gates, fences, yards, internal roads and auxiliary items to ensure synchronization before handover.
Two projects in Y Ty and Pha Long currently reach about 78% of the volume. In Y Ty, in addition to school buildings and administration buildings that basically closely follow the progress, the construction unit is focusing manpower on internal roads, sports fields and student dormitories.
In which, the male dormitory area is expected to be completed before August 30.
Similarly, in Pha Long, hundreds of workers are focusing on constructing kitchens, dormitories, outdoor water supply systems, technical infrastructure and landscape.
Some completion items are also determined to be completed by the end of August to ensure the quality of the project.
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, contractors have built detailed progress for each item, increased personnel, supplemented equipment, organized shift construction, and regularly inspected and removed difficulties arising right at the site.
For items that are still slow, the investor requests the contractor to focus maximum resources, ensure quality, labor safety and complete them soon to serve teaching and learning in the 2026-2027 school year.
Accelerating the progress of 4 ethnic minority boarding schools not only contributes to completing the system of educational facilities in border communes but also creates conditions for highland students to have a spacious and stable learning and living environment right from the beginning of the new school year.
