There are about 2 weeks until the opening day of the new 2026-2027 school year, 7 inter-level boarding schools in Gia Lai border communes have only reached about 85% of the construction volume.
Prolonged rainy weather makes the pressure of progress even greater, while the projects must ensure sufficient conditions to be put into use right from the beginning of the new school year.
Racing against the weather
As of mid-August 2026, 1 school reached about 90% of the construction volume, and the remaining 6 schools reached about 75-80%. Classrooms, dormitories, and multi-purpose buildings have basically completed the structural part. However, some items such as dining halls, administration buildings, and teacher dormitories are still delayed from 5 days to half a month.
In the sprint phase, the weather in border communes continuously experienced prolonged rain, causing difficulties for the construction of outdoor items, posing a risk of affecting the progress of acceptance, handover and putting the project into use in the new school year.

In Ia Chia commune, outdoor construction was interrupted many times due to rain. Hundreds of workers took advantage of each dry time to construct and compensate for progress.
Inter-level boarding high school in Ia O commune is also behind schedule when it has only completed about 80% of the volume.
Under the pressure of progress, the investor and contractors are increasing manpower, taking advantage of every day to accelerate construction.
To support the contractor to compensate for progress, nearly 780 officers and soldiers continue to stick to the construction site even though they have completed the assigned tasks.
Colonel Nguyen Cong Ngan - Deputy Political Commissar of Division 320, Army Corps 34 - said that in Ia O commune, the unit has supported the construction of more than 3,000m2 of walls surrounding the school, exceeding the set plan. Currently, the army forces continue to support the contractor in constructing items inside the school.
Final sprint before the opening day
Inspecting in Ia Mo, Ia Puch, Ia Nan, Ia Dom and Ia Pnon communes, leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested units to maximize the remaining time to complete the project before the opening day.

Gia Lai province requests the entire system to organize peak construction with the spirit of "overcoming all difficulties, determined to reach the finish line", focusing on ensuring essential conditions so that students can study right from the first day of the school year. Not accepting, handing over or putting into use works and items that do not meet requirements and quality.
The Department of Education and Training coordinates with the investor, local authorities and principals of 7 schools to review each project, determine the minimum conditions to organize the opening ceremony and teaching right from the first day of the school year.
Along with facilities, schools must prepare full tables and chairs, teaching equipment, Internet connection, electricity, water, staff, teachers and classroom organization plans.
Before the opening day, 7 schools must ensure sufficient classrooms and conditions on electricity, water, sanitation, walkways, security, and safety to organize teaching.
The entire area put into use must be inspected and accepted in accordance with regulations. Areas that are still under construction must be zoned, barricaded, and completely separated from the operating areas of students and teachers.
