The International Young IT Talent Competition - Hanoi City for the 2024 - 2025 school year is a completely free intellectual playground in the field of digital technology for high school students from grades 3 to 12 in the capital, organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training with the support of IIG Vietnam Education Organization.

In the Competition's qualifying round, more than 50,000 contestants from nearly 1,000 primary, secondary and high schools across the city participated. After the qualifying round, 3,495 students selected from schools will continue to compete in the Preliminary Round of the competition held on March 30, 2025.
In the Preliminary Round, candidates were tested and assessed on knowledge and IT skills according to the new trend of the world through the IC3 Spark International IT exam (for primary school level) and IC3 (for secondary school level). After this round, the results showed that 91 students achieved an absolute score of 1000 and 694 students achieved a score of over 900.
Notably, more than 80% of candidates have achieved 700 or more. This is the score that meets the requirements of the international IT assessment standards IC3 and IC3 Spark, which are applied to high school students in the US and more than 150 countries around the world. This is also the qualifying score for the international IC3, IC3 Spark certificate with unlimited value globally.
Completing the test with 753 points, To Duy Thang - Van Quan Secondary School - shared: "I feel quite confident with the results achieved and am happy to participate in this round. Through the exam, children learn about how to use social networks, how to ensure personal information security, avoid bullying or information theft on social networks.
At the same time, children learn many skills on how to use basic software on a computer. The knowledge is very close to your child's life, helping them interact with people and on social networks better and safer."
Ms. Le Thi Hong Tuyet - IT teacher at Tan Trieu Primary School (Thanh Tri, Hanoi) - said: "Currently, IT skills are considered an extremely important digital citizen baggage. The current General Information Technology program may not be enough, so children need many playgrounds such as International Young Informatics Talent - Hanoi City to supplement external knowledge, meeting the requirements of the digital age".

According to the Organizing Committee, after the Preliminary Round, there will be 10 best candidates at the primary level and 10 best candidates at the secondary level from each district, town and city selected to continue participating in the Final Round, scheduled to be held on April 13, 2025. In addition, these candidates will be honored and awarded certificates of excellent achievements to recognize their efforts in studying and developing IT skills.
