The working group of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee led by Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy recently conducted a survey and inspection trip at a number of schools on preparations for the new school year 2025 - 2026 according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The delegation inspected the preparation of conditions for the new school year on facilities and teaching equipment at Tran Hung Dao Primary and Secondary School and Ngo Si Lien High School (Vinh Thong Ward); worked with the Department of Education and Training, the People's Committee of Vinh Thong Ward and Ngo Si Lien High School, Tran Hung Dao Primary and Secondary School on the direction and implementation of preparations for the new school year and preparation for the Opening Ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training, in the 2025 - 2026 school year, the industry is expected to have 1,325 school units, 23 197 classes; mobilizing 759,000 students. The total number of employees in the whole industry by the end of the 2024-2025 school year is 46,015 people. The team of cadres, teachers, and staff basically meets the requirements for developing the scale of majors and levels of education.
To prepare for the new school year, the Department of Education and Training issued Official Letter No. 956/SGDDT-VP dated August 18, 2025 on implementing a number of activities before school, at the beginning of the school year and guiding the organization of the Opening Ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year, guiding educational institutions to carry out a number of tasks at the beginning of the new school year, etc.
Through inspection and reporting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Department and schools for proactively performing their tasks, fully preparing conditions for the new school year, especially the opening ceremony.
According to Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025 - 2026 is very special, associated with the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training), held in a new form without precedent.
To prepare for the new school year 2025 - 2026, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy requested schools and localities to pay attention to coordinating with the Department of Health to organize disinfection, sanitize classrooms and schoolyards to ensure a clean, beautiful environment, free of epidemics before students return to school.
Assign the Department of Education and Training to inform schools to urgently review and speed up the repair progress of classrooms and works completed before opening; adjust local educational documents; implement 100% health insurance for students. Coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to inspect the transmission line connection in preparation for the Opening Ceremony. The Provincial People's Committee Office advised An Giang Power Company to ensure power supply so that students of all schools can watch the opening ceremony nationwide.
Strengthen propaganda work on the role and significance of education; in particular, strongly propagate the organization of a unified opening ceremony for the 2025 - 2026 school year in the whole province on the morning of September 5, so that the opening day is truly a joyful festival, a day for all people to bring children to school.
