Regulations on "weight" in university admission combinations
Candidate V.M.T asked: "How is the regulation on "weight" in the university admission combination understood?
The Ministry of Education and Training answers this issue on the Government Electronic Information Portal as follows:

Clause 16, Article 2 of the Enrollment Regulations for training majors at the university level and preschool education majors at the college level in Circular No. 06/2026/TT-BGDDT dated February 15, 2026 of the Minister of Education and Training (Enrollment Regulations) stipulates:
16. The weight of calculating the admission score of 1 subject in 1 admission combination is the contribution of that subject in the admission combination. If the combination has 3 subjects (not multiplied by a coefficient), then the weight of calculating the admission score of any subject in the admission combination is 1/3".
Can independent candidates use transcripts for admission consideration?
Also related to admissions, reader N.H. M asked: "Can independent candidates use the academic records of previous years to participate in university admissions?".
Regarding this content, the Ministry of Education and Training said that Clause 1, Article 5 of the Regulation on enrollment for training majors at the university level and preschool education majors at the college level in Circular No. 06/2026/TT-BGDDT dated February 15, 2026 of the Minister of Education and Training (Enrollment Regulations) stipulates:
1. Candidates identified at the time of admission before the official announcement of admission results include:
a) People who have been recognized as graduating from high school, vocational secondary school in Vietnam or from abroad who are recognized as having a level equivalent to high school, vocational secondary school in Vietnam determined by functional units;
b) People who have a diploma from intermediate level in the same applied industry group and have completed enough requirements for the volume of high school cultural knowledge according to the provisions of law".
Thus, the Enrollment Regulations do not stipulate the limit of high school graduation years for candidates. The determination of the use of academic results of independent candidates is regulated by the training institution.
