Candidate V.V.N asked the Ministry of Education and Training: Will the admission conditions according to the transcript-based method in 2026 change compared to previous years?
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training answers as follows:
Clause 5, Article 6 of the Regulation on enrollment for training majors at the university level and preschool education majors at the college level in Circular No. 06/2026/TT-BGDDT dated February 15, 2026 of the Minister of Education and Training stipulates:
5th. The admission method is based on the academic results of compulsory high school subjects in Mathematics or Literature with the weight of calculating the score of Mathematics or Literature at least 1/3 and meeting one of the following requirements:

a) The admission combination uses the general average score of academic results for the whole year of grades 10, 11, 12 of at least 03 subjects on a 30-point scale.
b) The admission combination uses the general average score of academic results for the whole year of grades 10, 11, 12 of at least 02 subjects (including compulsory Math or Literature) and uses a foreign language certificate (a foreign language certificate used for exemption from the high school graduation exam according to the current High School Graduation Examination Regulations), the training institution converts the foreign language certificate result into a foreign language subject score on a scale of 10 points to include in the admission subject combination to replace the foreign language subject.
c) In case the subject in the admission combination does not study in full 06 high school semesters per year due to changes in subject selection, use the academic results of another subject close to the field to replace it".
Thus, the change in enrollment according to the transcript-based method in 2026 is that it is mandatory to have Mathematics or Literature, and regulations on a weight of 1/3 for these subjects, in order to ensure the quality of input in core cultural subjects and use the general average score (6 semesters) for the whole year of grades 10, 11, 12 of at least 3 subjects (scale of 30 points).
