Many high schools will be arranged and merged
According to the expected plan, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province will arrange 15 directly affiliated educational institutions through merger and reorganization; and at the same time maintain the status quo for the remaining 12 units.
In the group of general schools, many high schools are expected to be organized according to the inter-level model after merging with secondary schools in the same area.
Bac Lieu High School merges Long Thanh Secondary School to establish Bac Lieu Secondary and High School; Hiep Thanh High School merges Nguyen Hue Secondary School into Hiep Thanh Secondary and High School; Tan Phong High School merges Tan Hiep Secondary School into Tan Phong Secondary and High School; Ly Van Lam Secondary and High School receives Nguyen Viet Khai High School; Thai Thanh Hoa Secondary and High School receives Tan Duc Secondary and High School.

For high schools, the plan is to merge Ninh Quoi High School into Ngan Dua High School; Ninh Thanh Loi High School into Tran Van Bay High School; Nguyen Trung Truc High School into Gia Rai High School; Dinh Thanh High School into Tac Van High School; Huynh Phi Hung High School into Tran Van Thoi High School; Khanh Lam High School into U Minh High School.
In the specialized education and continuing education blocks, Ca Mau Ethnic Minority Boarding School is expected to merge into Bac Lieu Ethnic Minority Boarding School; Ca Mau Continuing Education Center merges into Bac Lieu Continuing Education Center to form new units after arrangement.
Along with the arrangement plan, 12 affiliated educational institutions continue to maintain the status quo. Duc Thang High School was received from SOS Children's Village Vietnam.
The reorganization of affiliated units aims to streamline management focal points, effectively use facilities, staff, teachers and improve the quality of education.
Request communes and wards to arrange kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools
The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province also guides the People's Committees of communes and wards to implement the arrangement of public preschool and general education institutions according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee. Localities must complete the plan, send it to the Department for summarization, and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration before the opening of the 2026-2027 school year.
According to the guidance, the People's Committees of communes and wards review the entire network of kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools to develop arrangement plans suitable to the actual conditions of each area. The reorganization of schools is oriented according to two models including large-scale one-level schools with school sites or multi-level general schools.
The Department of Education and Training requires that the arrangement must ensure that after reorganization, each commune and ward has at least one preschool education institution, one primary school, one secondary school or one multi-level general education school; not affecting the learning rights of students and the results of universal education.

At the same time, localities do not merge kindergartens with general schools, do not merge general schools with educational centers or specialized educational institutions; prioritize arranging schools of the same level or inter-level with close locations. For remote school sites that are no longer suitable, localities build a roadmap for arrangement, gradually forming main school sites or semi-boarding schools when conditions are met.
Along with reorganizing the school network, communes and wards must develop plans to arrange management officials, teachers, and staff, review facilities and public assets. The goal of the rearrangement is to reduce at least 30% of the number of public educational institutions compared to July 1, 2025, and at the same time build a streamlined and efficient school system, meeting the requirements of education development in the new period.
