On July 14, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to summarize the 2026 high school graduation exam.
According to the Exam Steering Committee, the organizational work was implemented closely and synchronously from the preparation stage to the examination supervision, security, transportation, handover and preservation of exam papers and exam papers. Through authorized inspection by the Ministry of Education and Training and inspection by the Department of Education and Training, the exam was assessed to have taken place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations; there were no officials, teachers, or staff performing exam duties and no candidates violating regulations.

The whole province has a graduation rate of 98.6%, the average score of subjects reached 5.73 points, lower than the national average by 0.11 points. Ca Mau ranked 16th/34 provinces and cities; ranked 2nd/5 localities in the Mekong Delta region and 3rd/8 provinces and cities in the Southern region. The whole province has 54 exam papers achieving a score of 10.
Some subjects with outstanding results such as History achieved 6.32 points, ranked 5th nationwide; Geography achieved 5.37 points, ranked 4th; Industrial Technology achieved 6.83 points, ranked 4th. Literature achieved 6.56 points, higher than the national average by 0.06 points; Agricultural Technology achieved 7.20 points, higher than the national average by 0.24 points.

Compared to 2025, the results of many subjects have positive changes. The average score of Math increased by 0.90 points, Chemistry increased by 0.60 points and English increased by 0.02 points. This is considered a positive sign in the context that the exam continues to be oriented towards developing competencies and strengthening the application of knowledge into practice.
Besides the achieved results, the conference also pointed out many limitations that need to be overcome. The rate of exam papers below 5 points is still high in many subjects, of which English accounts for 62.22%, Physics 52.30%, Mathematics 48.24%, Economic and Legal Education 46.29%, Geography 38.77% and Biology 36.91%.
The average scores of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics and English are all lower than the national average. Notably, English ranked 33rd/34 provinces and cities; Chemistry ranked 32nd/34 and Physics ranked 30th/34. The whole province has 7 exam papers with failing scores, including 4 Math papers, 2 Chemistry papers and 1 Geography paper.

The conference also assessed that the conditions for organizing the exam in some remote areas are still difficult; some exam sites before the exam still have facilities such as camera systems, toilets, backup generators and service infrastructure. Although limitations have been overcome before the exam took place, these are still issues that need to be proactively prepared better in the next exams.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan praised the units that coordinated to successfully organize the exam, and at the same time requested the education sector to focus on overcoming the shortcomings that have been pointed out, especially improving the quality of subjects with low results such as English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, contributing to improving the quality of education in the locality in the coming years.
