In the early days of the school year, the failure to organize semi-boarding made parents of Dang Tran Con Elementary School (Vinh Hoi ward, Ho Chi Minh City) have to take their children back and forth once more at noon. After picking up their children, parents with children in grades 3, 4, 5 bring them back to school in the afternoon according to the schedule.
Ms. Pham Thuy Ha - Principal of Dang Tran Con Primary School - said that this school year, the school has more than 700 students, with 21 classes. The school is conducting periodic repairs according to the plan, during the construction period, the amount of dust generated made the school not guaranteed conditions to organize semi-boarding.

To reduce the number of pick-up and drop-off trips, the school arranges a timetable for each grade group. Grades 1 and 2 students study in the morning; grade 3 students study one afternoon each week; grades 4 and 5 study two afternoons each week.
According to Ms. Ha, the school understands that many parents register for semi-boarding because they do not have the conditions to go home to pick up their children at noon. Therefore, while waiting for completion of repairs, the school tries to support those who are really in difficult circumstances.
For students from afar or parents who cannot come home to pick up their children, families can send food from home to school. Teachers are assigned to support students with lunch and rest in class before continuing to study in the afternoon.
The school understands the difficulties of parents in this period. We will try to reorganize semi-boarding as soon as possible, helping parents to be less vất vả in picking up and dropping off" - Ms. Ha said.
At Nguyen Van Troi Elementary School, the support plan is also implemented according to each case. Mr. Tat Quoc Thang - Principal of the school - said that the school cannot currently determine the specific time to reorganize semi-boarding because it is consolidating documents, completing legal conditions and waiting for general guidance.
During this time, students still study according to the program, parents proactively pick up and drop off. For cases where families encounter difficulties and cannot pick up their children on time, parents can discuss with homeroom teachers so that the school can find support plans based on ensuring student safety.

The failure to organize semi-boarding has caused many families to adjust their daily schedules and work to pick up and drop off their children at noon.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh (Khanh Hoi ward) said that in the immediate future, the family can still arrange because the house is near the school, but if the situation lasts, picking up and dropping off children many times a day will cause no small inconvenience, especially for parents working during office hours.
In the immediate future, my family can still arrange it, but if it is prolonged, taking and picking up children many times a day will be quite difficult. I hope the school will soon reorganize semi-boarding so that parents will be less vất vả" - Ms. Trinh shared.
Mr. Vo Van Minh (Khanh Hoi ward) said that both husband and wife are working, so constantly arranging time to pick up and drop off children is a significant pressure.
Mr. Minh hopes that the school will soon complete the conditions to reorganize semi-boarding. According to him, this not only helps parents stabilize their working hours but also creates conditions for students to have lunch breaks and continue to study in the afternoon conveniently.
